On April 20th, 2012, all of Red Sox Nation will be singing Happy Birthday to the greatest ballpark in the world as Fenway Park opens up its gates for their 100th season. Fenway has seen a lot in 100 years. The likes of Jimmie Foxx, Lefty Grove, Babe Ruth and Ted Williams played on its hallowed grounds. It was the site of Carlton Fisk’s famous Game Six walk-off home run over the Green Monster in 1975 and partook in the greatest comeback in sports history in 2004 as the BoSox won four straight over the Yankees in the ALCS. Over the years, new seats have been added on top of the Green Monster and it has even played host to hockey games. It’s been a great 100 years at the intersection of Yawkey Way and Lansdowne Street and Fenway will still be going strong for the next century.
