It's not hard to figure out how Frank Thomas earned his nickname. Standing at 6'5" and 275lbs, the "Big Hurt" easily stood out on a baseball team, not only for his height but for his power. Thomas, a former college football player who would would swing a piece of rebar to warm-up, hit 521 career homeruns in 19 Major League seasons, won back to back AL MVP awards in 1993 and 1994, and was a 5-time All-Star. He is one of only seven players in the 500 homer club who had a career batting average over .300, joining the likes of Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Ted Williams, Jimmie Fox, and Mel Ott.
