Description
As a high school triple threat Ken Stabler played baseball, basketball and football. He was originally sought after by major MLB teams after high school, but ended up at the University of Alabama, where he solidified his on-field presence in the 1966 Run in the Mud, during which Stabler ran a 53-yard game-winning touchdown over a rain-drenched field, giving the Tide a 7-3 victory over one of their major rivals, the Auburn Tigers. After his time at Alabama, Stabler signed on as a second round draft with the Oakland Raiders in 1968. He made himself a household name among NFL fans across the nation during the 1977 AFC playoffs, when he completed a legendary fourth-quarter pass to set up a game-tying field goal in a play dubbed the “Ghost to the Post”. Stabler ended his career by transitioning to the sidelines when he signed on as a color commentator with CBS. Ken Stabler has hand-signed this Riddell authentic full-size helmet and added a "Roll Tide" inscription. It comes complete with a Certificate of Authenticity from Palm Beach Autographs and a photographic print of Stabler during the actual signing.
