Description
Though six MLB teams wanted to recruit Joe Namath after high school, he ended up at the University of Alabama, where he led the team to a 29-4 record over three seasons. After his time at Alabama, Namath signed with the New York Jets in 1964. Namath was the front man of the fledgling AFL, proving that the relatively new league was composed of competition just as tough (if not tougher) than the well-established NFL. Namath's most famous performance came during Super Bowl III, when he and the Jets defeated the then Baltimore Colts, who were widely considered to be the greatest NFL team of the time. The defeat came handily and by doing so, Namath ensured his place in the NFL Hall of Fame. Joe Namath has hand-signed this Riddell authentic full-size helmet which comes complete with a Certificate of Authenticity from Palm Beach Autographs and a photographic print of Namath during the actual signing.
